Anyone here ever read Terry Pratchett? He has some great scenes with Mr. Sholto Pinn, the undead lawyer.

I've read some of Pratchett's stuff, but I can't recall that character. Which books is he in?

Sholto Pin is in most of the Sam Vimes books, including Night Watch, and the more recent Moist von Lipwig ones.
Actually, looking at the video, I don't think its too extraordinary. Obviously, a little bit is trumped-up Soviet propaganda (such as the whole recconecting the brain thing), but as for the rest-yes, organs can keep working after the death of a whole body if they are controlled and cared for by machines. Don't we sometimes keep people alive indefinitely in America? Whether its Terry Schiavo or a dog, its more or less the same thing.
