I concur - the best videogame ever. The music, and sound effects, the scenery and gameplay itself. The flying polyps were pretty terrifying indeed, as well as the bit in the basement with the bloke with all of his organs arranged around him that you end up killing.

I wouldn't say its the best video game ever, the game play is repetitive and the sound track gets annoying, and some of the puzzles are way hard to figure out!

I should have qualified that by mentioning that I'm not a videogame expert by any means. I rarely play them, but Dark Corners Of The Earth really captured my imagination in ways that other games havn't.

A mate of mine was playing STALKER - legecy of cernobyl the other day - that looked good....

its not that stupid an idea. its made by bethesda softworks who made dark corners of the earth, Oblivion also contained a quest called "the shadow over hackdirt" based on Innsmouth so in the 100+ so hours of gameplay involved in Fallout3 there may very well be a lovecraftian reference somewhere.

morrowind is better than oblivion but only if you played it first. unfortuantely i didnt lol. its hard dealing with the text after being spoiled with the vocal dialogue in oblivion. it seems a lot more intricate than oblivion and there are possibilities to tweak your character even more

I found it months ago in a bargain price of a supermarket, but still I haven´t installed. The scene of the chase in the hotel is really difficult!
