This forum is dying. We need to make it popular! Promote it!

there's a temple banner at fantastichorror.com, and i have dedicated my FH story to the temple... each of us can do little things to draw attention.

this may not be anything, but i got this response on spinetinglers to the announcement of FH #0. i don't know the basis, but this guy seems to have something against the temple of dagon—he's one of the anti-paciones, apparently... i wouldn't put it past those guys to smear the temple of dagon just for providing sanctuary for nickolaus. but it's a pretty flimsy speculation.

what we need to do is re-seed the boards with provocative topics. i check here every day, and when there's a thoughtful discussion going on, i'm more inclined to add to it. think about newbies who show up and look at the recent posts, and they're all just goofs and one-liners between regulars. that's not a very stimulating introduction to a community.

if everybody does a little bit, nobody will have to do a lot...

I know I've had a link to the Temple in my GameFAQs account for some time, but I'll see if there are any literary forums I can spread the word too.

I link to it on the other forum I use, too, but I don't think anyone there's really interested in the concept.

I have a link to it on my blog but visitors to my blog are so far pretty scarce, I think. Give me some time to think about this; I may have a bright idea lurking somewhere in the attic.

I think I found it by searching for "Dagon." Either way, the home page--regardless of how well it is designed--isn't really optimized to rank high in searches for "H.P. Lovecraft." Doing so could boost search results and pull in more members.

How do you "googlebomb" something?

I've added some links at the FH message board, going back to the posts on links for Lovecraft and related authors here.

Hmmm, what kind of people would be intrested in joining a Lovecraft forum?

i came here when i was first doing research for the 'depths of chaparral heights' series. i realized it was kind of a niche story, so i went around looking for a hip audience who could help me really do justice to the story's inspirations (hpl's mythos).

and i didn't just stop looking for forums when i found this one. i kept poking around, and never found any that seemed more promising as a community. sure, there are places with higher levels of activity, but that doesn't mean much too much in my book. if i wanted to drown in posts every day, i could find that in any number of places...

but i have been slacking around here, and i'll try better.
