Mythos merchandise

Post by Secret3 »

This is an announcement/shameless plug for my new Cafepress store. It's still in the process of being fine tuned, and I am still getting more merchandise prepared. But I have a section devoted just for Lovecraft mythos related items.
My personal favorite is the Pickman's Model barbecue apron.

I'm also getting a bit tired of all the "cutesy" Cthulhu stuff out there. So, soon I plan to release a T-shirt that says "Cthulhu Is Not Cute" or something to that effect. I'd be happy to take suggestions if anyone has any good ideas!

This link is just to the Mythos section of the shop if you want to take a look around. I would love to get feedback of all sorts- what you like and what you think could be made better!

no suggestions now, but a tip o the hat to the anti-cute sentiment
A monkey riding a dog is probably the awesomest thing that could ever happen.

You could use the picture of Cthulhu you've got there, with "gimme a hug" underneath it. It's shooting the cutesy look to pieces by being cute.

I'm thinking something like...

A picture of badass Cthulhu ripping a cutesy Cthulhu's heart out.
Underneath it says " Cthulhu PWNs Cutethulhu!"
"I'm farther from doing what I want to do than I was 20 years ago"
~~H.P.Lovecraft~~

I'd like it better if it were Lovecraft himself ripping the head of of Cutethulh

Is it wrong that I find the unspeakably horrific, gibbous form of Cthulhu as originally described, and representations thereof, more adorable then the cutesified ones, exactly because of his dread awfulness? :)

I always fall for the darkest monsters...

Me too, Draconis, me too. The last one I fell for still makes my life a living Hell every time we have to meet to swap the kids.

Well I came up with a new design based on the suggestions here. It's very simply a decapitated "Cute-thulhu" with the words "Cthulhu Isn't Cute". Here is a link to the image on a T-shirt;

I plan to make stickers and mugs to go with it too.
I appreciate all the good feedback guys!
