No, it paid the bills. You know what happens when people take fiction seriously? Creationism. Or, if it's by a sci-fi writer, Scientology.
actually, no. Lovecraft didn't write to "pay the bills". that's one of the things that makes his writing different than 99% of the junk out there. he wrote because he had to, it was in his nature. and he had a preternatural gift for it.

so what's the difference between Scientology and Christianity? for that matter, why are those dissimilar to atheism? it's all a belief system, hoss. god, science, money, fiction, or prime time tv... everyone has something that informs their concept of reality. it just so happens that i've chosen the Cthulhu Mythos.

I didn't say 'Christianity', I said Creationism. There's no real difference between it and Scientology. It's all people who blindly ignore science and logic because a book said so.

any of it. all of it. it's all the same, just replacing one thing for another.

well, i'm against both science and logic. i believe those concepts work against the sensitive, the dreamer, and the outsider. one premise of Cthulhu Cult is that science and logic are dead, empty notions that hinder man's evolution.

Well actually christianity is known as a form of crationism. While Scientology is considered to believe in intelligent design.

P.S for that title page of the bible did u steal that from one of the pictures in the CoC roleplaying book...

so far, i've been pretty darn tolerant of your drivel. but now you seem to be accusing me of stealing another's work. either come up with some substantiated proof or please take back your accusation.

if not, then i would appreciate a Temple of Dagon moderator to step in and put a stop to this harassment.

thank you,

i don't see why we should be hostile to darrick.. he's dedicated a lot of thought and effort to his cult. i don't necessarily buy all of it, but i think what he's doing is in the spirit of the mythos, and it adds something worthwhile to the landscape we all occupy.. why ridicule the guy?

thanks JJ, but i'm used to far worse treatment. i don't believe Temple of Dagon posters mean any real hostility, but it's true that my unconventional and outspoken views leave me with a lot of harsh critics. oh well.

glad i have your support though. 8)

To be fair, it all went pear-shaped when you posted the picture of yourself in the hat. Adorable, but not the I'll-follow-your-beliefs adorable.
On a serious note, how much do you make from the sales of your books? Just curious, because you seem to do a lot of work on them, especially the RPG - they aren't easy made.
