Jesus Prime,

To an extent your right on.

Black Sabbath was indeed THE first metal. Followed by Judas Priest (who've been around for quite some time), then Motorhead, Iron Maiden right into Venom's Welcome To Hell debut LP.

And this bullsh*t with the recording industry's claims that Led Zeppelin was the first Heavy Metal band is just not true. I love Led Zeppelin, but they're a very heavy hard rock outfit, not metal.

The f*cking recording industry with their propaganda bullsh*t always on the fly. Musics ONLY about money. Can you dig it?

there should be a statistic somewhere about the average length of posts.. stories and poems excluded... and then weed out everything about rusty cooley and kerry king, and then give triple points for mentions of monkeys and dogs, and THEN i have veto power, and then science proves the true superstar of the temple of dagon..........which may or may not be me, but go ahead and draft your concession speeches anyway

JJ Burke,

Did you see slayer's live performance on the Combat Tour Video. Slayer does, Die By The Sword and when Kerry King's solo comes up, he just rips down the entire neck of his guitar. The camera's right on it too. Awesome stuff!

uh oh! now you'll have to answer to.... eh, either JP or EA. i forget which one likes which.. it's been like a cartoon dust-cloud fight where faces and hands and chicken bones just tumble around in a commotion. then chuck norris and whilliam shatner show up out of nowhere and everything circles the drain for a while, then adrian says something about pudding and life goes on

ps. no, i missed that video

Zeppelin was metal. Just because subsequent bands were heavier doesn't change that fact. If it did, Judas Priest and Dio would now be considered pop rock candyasses.

After Lamb Of God made "Ruin" every metal band except Slayer should have stopped existing.

Bah, nothing will invalidtae Voivod. Not the heaviest, not the fastest, not even my favourites, but you just try bettering them at their own game.
And Kerry King sucks monkey bollocks.
Zepplin weren't metal. Hell, Sabbath didn't even call themselves metal, and they're way more metal than Zepplin. Though John Bonham is up there as one of the most metal drummers ever.

I agree with JP. KK is over-rated.
