Guide: How to Use Notes on iPhone

Post by JonathanDom »

Notes app on iPhone is an inside way to jot down every little things in your life and it can synchronize between iOS device and iCloud. Compared to its counterparts like Evernote, Notes before iOS 9 is barebones. However simplicity turns out to be the secret of getting things organized and going smoothly. Suppose that you’re living a busy life, being occupied with trivial things every day, you’re luckily to see this post.

Now let’s me share my experience on how to use Notes on iPhone with iOS 9.

1. How to Manage Folder
You are now able to create and name folders in Notes and keep notes into different folders which will help you make things more orderly and breeze through them faster than ever before. iCloud and On My iPhone are two folders created by default and new folder your created are under each of them. You can move notes from different folders by entering any folder and press Edit icon on the upper right. Mark down notes you want and tap on Move to, then select the target folder in the window that appears. Follow the same steps you can delete notes and if you accidently delete the wrong notes, you still stand a chance to get them back in Recently Deleted folder where deleted notes are preserved for 30 days.

2. How to Create Checklists
To create checklists under notes, enter any folder and tap on note you already created. Then tap on the floating icon "+" just above the keyboard, you can see for options in the screen: Checkbox, Formatting, Camera and Curve Line. What you need to do is tap on Checkbox – the first icon to add items and then keep tapping on Return key to add next items.

3. How to Add Photos, Maps, Links
I just mentioned when creating checklists, you can see four options, and among which Camera icon used for adding photos and videos. Well, it turns out to be so simple. Tap on Camera icon in the middle and you can insert photos and videos you already have in Photo Library, or you can choose to take a real-time one, it up to you.

Another way to share photos, Maps, web links and other document pages to notes requires you to launch other appropriate apps. This works like some share function with networking apps. For example, go to the related page via Safari and press share icon at the lower middle to bring out the share sheet. Tap on Notes and you’ll be prompted to choose which folder under Notes you’d like to put.

4. How to Use Sketch on Notes
Don’t have time to jot down words? Want to draw a cute cartoon image to friends? Show the dimension to the salesman on supermarket when asking specific items you want? Notes give you the privilege to scrawl over typing. You can use fine-tip marker, thick marker and pencil to draw whatever you like in 24 colors. And ruler is available for you to draw straight line in all direction by rotating the canvas in the upper right corner. And if you’re not contented with you want draw you can easily erase it.

5. How Siri can Help
Don’t forget that Siri is always your good friends in many aspects. It can quickly fetch you a specific note even if you can recall its title and location. Just long-press the Home button and say to Siri the way as you think like "Show notes I made last week", or "Show me notes about movies" and it will presents you all results that you may want.

6. How to recover Deleted Notes on iPhone
Notes contains important stuff. What if you accidentally delete some of them in the Recently Deleted folder and can. In that case you’re luckily to have FonePaw iPhone Data Recovery to recover them on iPhone in just few steps. And notes you get back are in HTML format which is much clear to read. Apart from notes, you can restore other essential data like contacts, photos, call history, SMS, reminder and much more from iPhone directly and from iTunes or iCloud backup.
