what is known about the origin of the tsunami? we have to be sure not to contradict any of the real facts, or if we do, we must create a plausible scenario

We should do a big thing on bizarre natural occurances, or perhaps a little segment on native peoples and their religions, those who come close to the mythos anywayz

well i guess it was really 2 winters ago.. the indian ocean tsunami of december 26, 2004 caused by the 2004 indian ocean earthquake... all our investigations could ultimately point to this incident. an explosion? a collapse of a great structure? an otherworldly psychic phenomenon? this could be the big blurry 'whatever' that reaches into all of our disjointed accounts

i like the idea of a sudden vacant spot in the bedrock of the ocean causing the earthquake.

like, i dunno, something that was embedded down there just up and left.

i like that too... that's probably a more definite explanation than 'we' would have been able to deduce, but we can hint in that direction
