I was working on a portrait of Lovecraft today. I am not sure if I will continue on it, but maybe someone has an opinion on it so far ?
It was done in Photoshop with a Wacom drawing tablet. No filters or anything were used. I did not start with the original image of Lovecraft (I don't trace
) but I was looking at it for reference. Hows it look?

I think one of the main things I don't like about it is the detail on the eyes.. and something might be a bit off with the shape of the head.. but I am always too critical to finish most drawings

Great similarity, but I think you are right about the eyes. They're... too 'normal' right now.

This probably sounds cheeky, but Lovecraft's eyes have a bit more of a haunted (groan) look in the portrait I remember. *shrug*

Hell, i'm impressed you did that in photoshop. I use it for a great deal of photo manipulation, but i certainly cant draw in it....

My only gripe is not the eyes, but that he looks to young and innocent.
