Does anyone play?

I am new to this MUD, i have been mudding since 2007 on DiscworldMUD which has players active almost all the time, but whenever i am on this mud, only immortals are on but they don't respond anyway.

I have only seen two people on - Alexander and Nat, who have helped me.
But it doesn't seem alive to me.

Good game though, a lot of good features.

People do play, of course. Usually at night (after 5PM Eastern or so, I think). But the MUD's always had a relatively small pbase, as far as I can tell. I've been playing here off-and-on for several years, and I don't think I've ever seen even 20 players on at one time. Or if there were, it was ages ago.

Many ages ago, yes it ran 15 - 35 from min to peak. However right now we peak just shy of 10. Like I mentioned in another post, part of the reason is that due to my personal decision to stop running ads (I'm trying to pay off a car and buy a house atm, which takes precedence), and part of the reason is being less active on sites such as TMC, or kyndig getting subsumed in a different entity, etc.

At this point we rely on basic web searches and word of mouth advertising. I generally sit afk on the mud (I -should- be invisible, but I am occasionally visible) so I can review what's going on.

I'm not sure exactly how many unique players we have, but right now, but there are 80 active pfiles over the last 2 weeks, and we've had 25 people login in the last 24 hours.

So at the least I can assure you that there are more than 2 players :) Now technically, if we were to get even 10 people to vote on the mud in TMC we would jump a fairly significant distance in ratings. For those that would like to vote, click here. Now if about 25 folks were to do this, then we'd be moving up into the 2nd page (which would be pretty awesome for a mud this size) in the TMC rankings.

I voted :)

It seems so unlikely that this game doesn't have many players, it's just so good, all the features like dream walking and the different races and such.

Rock on!! I just looked at the stats page on TMC, and we've moved in rankings from 363/2161 to 253/2161 since yesterday.

I'm including the TMC voting requirements here just so we can be good. I'll personally make sure to stop by once/day to place vate; it's the least I can do ;>.

=================================
TMC Voting Rules and Policy::

Notice: A more detailed set of rules will eventually reside here, but for now we have a very simple policy:

* A TMC user is allowed to cast a single vote for a specific mud once per day.
* Cheating to boost stats is not permitted, this includes anything designed to bypass our 'one person - one vote per mud - per day' rule.
* If the above isn't clear enough - Using Open Proxy Servers to Cast Votes Will Cause Your Mud To Be Unrankable on TMC !!!
* Players may not be offered incentives or rewards for casting votes for any given mud (that is, players may not receive anything more than the satisfaction for casting their one vote per day for their favorite mud).
* The two above rules will be handled on a case by case basis, possible penalities for abuse of the ranking system consist of temporary or permanent bans of the mud within the ranking system or tmc's muds database. The TMC administration reserves the right to handle any abuse that we discover however we see fit.
* These rules and our policy regarding the rankings may be changed at any time.
=================================

In recognition of this, I'm going to update the TMC listing description today to something a bit more current than the one up there now (which was written in 2004).

Don't worry - I am too lazy to use a proxy to cheat, and i would never do anything to get the MUD taken down from the listing. I'll try to vote once a day.

EDIT: Oh, and i wrote a review too. :)
