it's hard to tell how many people are reading the thing, but we're receiving submissions and meeting new folks on a pretty regular basis, so i'm satisfied. of course FH could stand to be busier, as could the temple, but we're not in a big hurry to get big.

glad you guys are enjoying it. please do get involved if you have the time and energy!

Mohias Dung is coming, in "The Hawthorne Stake".
He's a bad man.
A very bad man.
He was a spy, you know, "My name is Dung, Mohias Dung..."
I'm also considering a full length novel called "Dungheap Royale"
But that's another story.

Finally, we present Fantastic Horror Issue #3!

Image

After a hideous hiatus away from headquarters, the third and finest issue of the Internet's favorite independent horror publication is here just in time for Christmas, if not all the other Happy Holidays.

New stories, poetry, serial installments and classical flashbacks are assembled for you to enjoy. Please take a moment to share your thoughts in our Community Forum, and consider joining the effort to build future issues!

Presenting Fantastic Horror Issue #4
Image

In this issue, witness a strange visitation on the Allegheny in “A Terrible Binding”—riches concealed among rubbish in “Clutter”—a terrible return in “Stained”—the secret interrogations of “Rough Justice”—the sinister commune of “The Discovery”—plus poetry, the fourth installment of “House of a Thousand Doors,” classic art by Dürer, Doré and Goya, and new art by Jon Ethridge and Alex Ledante.

i thought i would mention, the transliteration you made up for the Cthulhu Fhtagn chant (as seen in The Coyman Manuscript pt 1) is probably one of the best things i've seen in new Mythos fiction. finally, something that these cultists say that i can read out loud.

thanks man, i like that part too. little slivers of novelty, that's all i can give to the mythos for everything i've taken.

ps. the text in question is here, about 3/8 of the way down.

i've always wondered, is there someone somewhere in a little room, cataloging all of the individual contributions people make to the Mythos? like Harm's Encyclopedia Cthulhiana, but moreso. year after year, antho after antho of Mythos fiction comes out--some good, some bad--but there are some brilliant things being ignored because they weren't traditionally published.

on the flip side, there are some downright horrible things that should never see the light of day that are being self-published. you hear me, J. M. Rusin? YOU HEAR ME?!? (no, she doesn't put out any Mythos stuff. you can relax.)

yeah this one has been pleasing people. we still need to invest more energy in the art department though. it would be much more fantastic to use new, dedicated artwork on the cover. right now we mostly find stuff online and get permission to use it.
