I run the site, but it has not been touched in over a year. But, that MAY only be due to the spam problem? Who knows what might happen if things got cleaned up and a few new posts to the site came along? Forum certainly LOOKS impressive. Perhaps things might get used if it were tidied a bit and fresh content added? But, then maybe not if everyone has already gone on to other things / different forums... If you need help tidying, I'm moderately conversant in PhpBB and I think there are some decent controls for banning "users" (by name, ip, e-mail) and deleting their posts all at the same time. Plus I usually can make a bit of spare time for these kinds of things. If there's a finite number of bot accounts, the cleanup might not be TOO difficult. Might need to add afew protections to the forum re: how to sign up and who gets to post, etc. Just to make it a little tougher on spammers, if not already. Don't know if the forum gets much traffic, either, if only 'cause of all the spam. Just wagering a guess... Worth trying a clean up, sending out a message to membership, and see if any folks come back (if they've left). Just a thought... But I can understand if you don't want to give a new user admin rights... Always an iffy proposition. Also, whenever I delete a thread or post it seem to give some error or another? I have sent him the photograph of the book April sent me as a way toi wish me good luck with writing science fiction. I got a little mad at these bastards who spam your board with these little links that are not related to the site. Especially if it included a "delete all posts from user" option in the process, as most PhpBB boards do. Only so much one can do by manually deleting a few at a time. ;o] But I've been trying the best I can with the tools I've got.
